Welcome to the PowerShares QQQ Championship Volunteer Website!

Dear Volunteer,

Thank you for your hard work and dedication in making the 2017 PowerShares QQQ Championship the best playoff event on the PGA TOUR Champions. Our goal is to provide you, our valued team member, with a first-class experience making this tournament as successful as possible to impact our deserving charity partners. As part of your efforts, the PowerShares QQQ Championship has raised nearly $250,000 in its first year for local charities. Through the tournament’s partnership with our official charity, the Sherwood Cares Foundation, we directly make a difference with nearly 22 charitable organizations in the Conejo Valley and Ventura County region. It is with your help that we can expand the reach and impact of the PowerShares QQQ Championship in our community.

In response to your feedback, we will be making several new additions to better improve our overall experience. We have heard you! The staff at the PowerShares QQQ Championship has read all your comments and would like to thank you for taking the time to respond to our survey. After reviewing your comments, we feel confident that we can make positive changes to the following areas within the volunteer program:

 -    Less Expensive Volunteer Uniform Packages: In an effort to try and save costs on the overall volunteer uniform package fee, we have created a “Returning” volunteer uniform package. This package allows volunteers that worked the 2016 event to re-wear their uniform shirts, outerwear pieces and hats to keep the package pricing lower for the 2017 event. Our biggest complaint is that volunteers don’t wear the shirts or pullovers again after the event. With keeping the package for two years, the volunteers get the maximum use of the apparel for the lowest possible package price.

 -    Volunteer Shuttle from Parking Lot:  We have received many comments regarding the stairs that were built from the parking lot allowing easy access to the golf course by cutting off the pedestrian traffic on the residential streets. Since the reviews were so mixed, we plan to add additional Volunteer Shuttles that will take volunteers form the parking to the Sherwood Country Club Clubhouse. Shuttles will run on Volunteer Uniform Pick Up days as well as Pro-Am days and throughout tournament week. While walking will remain the quickest way to reach the Sherwood Country Club Clubhouse and course, we are happy to provide this service to help the volunteers who may need the additional support.

 -   Shipping & Receiving Committee:  To help manage the many tournament boxes, letters and envelopes that arrive to the course during the weeks leading to and after tournament week, we are creating a new committee called: Shipping & Receiving. The Shipping & Receiving committee will “receive and inventory daily packages and shipment arrivals for the tournament staff, Golf Channel, etc. Ensure that corporate clients have all the boxes that they shipped or ordered during set up. Also, assist with mailing boxes after the event.” We are looking for a committee chair to run this committee. If you are interested in working this committee or acting as a committee chair, please contact the Tournament Office.

Thank you in advance for your time and we all look forward to working with you at the 2017 PowerShares QQQ Championship.
